ICQ 98a — Connect to Server

ICQ 98a — connect to PetalTXT

ICQ 98a lets you point the client at a custom server before logging in. Use the For admin use panel to set the classic UDP port 4000.

Launch ICQ 98a. On the initial window, click For admin use.

Opens the connection setup panel.
In the connection panel, set:
- Server: icq.petaltxt.me
- Port: 4000 (classic UDP)

Enter the host and port exactly as shown.
Click OK and proceed to log in with your UIN and Password.

Return to the login screen and connect.
You should now come online.

Presence should switch to Online.

Verify Server = icq.petaltxt.me and Port = 4000.
If your network blocks UDP/4000, consider a TCP client (e.g., Trillian 0.721) or see Connect.
Check your UIN and Password.
